Two people have sadly died following a fire at a flat above a shop on New Heston Road in Heston Village. Eight fire engines and around 58 firefighters and officers were called during the night and the fire was under control by 4:20pm.

There is likely to be disruption in the area with road closures and diverted bus routes. This may cause some problems for student pick up by parents or for students’ bus journeys home.

Police have requested that students and parents keep away from the Village if possible in order to let the fire and police services get on with their jobs.
