80th Anniversary Sculpture
The shortlisted proposals for the sculpture to commemorate the School’s 80th Anniversary are on display in the Hogarth Building and students and staff are being asked to vote for their favourite.
A panel of students, governors, teachers and interested parties will use this feedback when they meet next week to decide on the winning sculpture. The winning artist will take up residency in the School while the sculpture is created and help to provide valuable workshops and learning experiences for the students.
Designs from five artists from the University of the Arts London are under consideration and are illustrated below. The brief they were given was for a large and significant sculpture to be built in the school grounds that celebrates the School’s 80th birthday and is meaningful to current and future students and the community. It was also suggested that the sculpture should feature oak – the material used to celebrate an 80th anniversary.
