Over the past few weeks and on two beautiful weekends, Year 9 and 10 students packed up their bags and went into the country for their practice expeditions. On the surface, a weekend of camping sounds relaxing, but mastering map reading; up to eight hours of walking a day; pitching tents and cooking their own food over a fire was what students had signed up for.
Why put yourself through all the agony? The simple answer is seeing the sun set over the forest; waking up to birdsong and an exquisite sunrise; the camaraderie of working together as a team and the sheer joy of achievement at the end!
Thanks to all who contributed to the enjoyable and successful expeditions.
