Congratulations to Arjun, Juhi and Bethany - Spring Term Jack Petchey Award winners

 Jack Petchey Award winners with JRThe Spring Term winners of the Jack Petchey Awards are Arjun Varma, Juhi Rathor and Bethany Mann. They will each receive £200 to fund an activity of their choice for a group of their friends.

The reasons why these three students received their awards are detailed below together with four runners-up who will each receive 200 vivos.

 

 Arjun Varma 11P – For his work with the British Heart Foundation, after a personal loss. He has organised cakes sales and wrote to the Deputy Head Teacher petitioning for a whole school mufti-day. Arjun is on target in all of his subjects and his teachers believe he will achieve eight As or A*s. His teachers describe him as a very polite, hard working young man and who is well liked and respected by his peers.
 

 Juhi withJuhi Rathor 11O – Despite being in pain most days with her physical difficulty (Arthritis), she has an excellent attendance record. Her attitude is always friendly and polite, and she is very caring. She successfully completed the Duke of Edinburgh Award and is on course to achieve her target grade in 9 out of 10 GCSE subjects. Her teachers describe her as very focused, with an infectious positive attitude and a determination to succeed. She refuses to use her illness as an excuse and is a great role model to others.

 Bethany Mann - Jack Petchey Award WinnerBethany Mann 8O – Bethany was nominated by twelve of her peers and two teachers. She always tries her best in the classroom and is a really good sportswoman. She is very friendly and positive, and goes out of her way to support others. Students see her as an excellent role model, who is kind (“kindest person I know…”) and thinks about others before herself. She is on course to achieve her target in eleven out of the thirteen subjects and always tries her best.

 

Runners-up who will each recieve 200 vivos:

Parveen Merbay 9W – Helps others and always completes her work
Mahir Abdi 9W – Respects others and has a good attitude
Ellie Hayashi 8B – Resilient, positive attitude and very selfless
Sachin Ghataaura 10W – Consistently works hard, always willing to participate and helps others
