Geography Fieldtrip in Devon
Get regular updates here on the Year 12 fieldtrip
Year 12 A level Geography students are on a residential Geography fieldtrip at Slapton Ley in Devon from Monday 7th March to Friday 11th March.
Zubair, a Year 12 Geographer, will be providing updates from time to time … here are his reports
Getting Ready:
Everyone will be making a mad dash to make sure they have everything, as Year 12 Geographers prepare for the five day field trip to Slapton. The skills and facts gained from Slapton will be essential and be put to use in June exams to put the knowledge of our Geographers to the test.
Day 1:
After two pit stops, a lot of rain and an encounter with the boys who protect our borders, students arrived in Slapton Ley through country lanes and twisting roads without need of rescue. Year 12 Geography settled into their dorms and also undertook several activities looking at re-branding on varying scales.
The visit to two farms/shopping centres was followed by a well-deserved dinner following several service station snacks beforehand. The Year 12 Geography students are making the most of their independence and social opportunities, visiting the village shop, three common rooms of the centre and every nook and cranny of the site.
