Heston Bake Off Kicks Off

Cakes and pastries to support the Princess Alice Hospice

Staff enjoying the Bake Off Cakes

The first competitors in this year’s Heston Bake Off created a mouth-watering range of cakes and pastries to raise money for the Princess Alice Hospice.

The bakers this week were the PAPE team (Performing Arts and Physical Education). Over the next few weeks eleven teams will be trying to produce the most delicious cakes – Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood would be impressed. One particular skill from last year’s competition was the ability of the bakers to produce cakes that fitted perfectly into Tesco and Sainsbury packaging!

Princess Alice HospiceThis year’s charity, who will benefit from all the contributions, is the Princess Alice Hospice, a local charity dedicated to providing free, high-quality compassionate care and support for patients, their families and carers. The charity was particularly supportive to Les Edwards and his family and Les’s wife Alison is now a volunteer at the hospice.
