Publishing success for Heston Teacher

Congratulations to Mr Maric ... Anthropology & Sociology books published

Mr Maric in the ClassroomHeston’s Humanities Teacher, Mr Tomislav Maric, has had two books published over the summer. The books are text books for Anthropology and Sociology – two of the subjects taught by Mr Maric at Heston.

The books are a combined effort by a number of co-authors who are all teachers. The books have been well received by critics and both teachers and students have been impressed. Both books are text books for Sixth Form students and the Anthropology book, What makes us humans? is in use for first year studies at a number of universities. It is also of general interest for anyone fascinated by anthropology.

Mr Maric commented: “I am delighted with both published books. The most rewarding thing is that both students and teachers find them extremely useful in their learning and teaching. Both of the books are published by leading publishers for social sciences Polity and Hodder. Writing textbooks is an extension of my teaching practice which allows me to express myself in a creative and innovative way.”

Mr Maric has a third book in the pipe-line which should be published later this year.
