Year 9 Prince’s Trust students raise £400 for charity

Year 9 students undertaking a 2 year Prince’s Trust qualification raised £400 through their week-long pop up shop for Heston West Big Local as part of their Community Project unit. Layla Januda, Zainab Hussein, Manroze Purewal, Anna Nisar and Meryam Lemmou decided to raise money for the lottery funded project whose aim is to “create opportunities for local people to live healthier and happier lives.”

Heston West Big Local Project Manager Taz Virdee provided eye catching promotional material (banners and personalised t-shirts) to help publicise the fundraising efforts and was very impressed when he came along to offer his support on the last day. The girls raised more than their intended target and will soon be visiting the charity to present a cheque and help decide where the money will be spent.
