Romeo and Juliet at The Shakespeare’s Globe

The Hearing Impaired students had an amazing opportunity to watch a signed and captioned performance of Romeo and Juliet at the Globe, courtesy of Mousetrap Theatre Projects. The day started with students arriving at the Globe via The London Underground. The group had a thorough introduction to the Globe itself and its rich history. Students had the opportunity to go on-stage to get a feel of an Elizabethan Theatre from the actors’ viewpoint. Once the performance started, we sat in the best seats of the house. The performance was amazing, the BSL interpreter was on-stage among the cast and the captions were easy to see and follow. All in all a fantastic day that really brought Shakespeare to life. This opportunity will stay with the students for years to come and help with their GCSE English Literature examination.
