The Visual Arts department hosted a Private View of GCSE students work on Wednesday 18 June. Students, parents, family and friends all came to view the impressive range of students’ work.

Ms Helen Wyglendacz, Curriculum Leader for the Visual Arts, said “This year it was a big, bold and colourful event with lots of spray paint art and some innovative Textile designs as well as cutting edge animation from the Graphics students and some stunning dark room prints from the Photographers.”
Staging the exhibition was a mammoth effort for staff and students to exhibit the art work of over 160 students in time for the exam board moderation. Four of the Art studios were closed and transformed into a gallery space for each GCSE student who studies Fine Art, Photography, Graphics or Textiles to exhibit two large artworks and two sketchbooks, so this is an enormous exhibition.
The effort was much appreciated by the visitors who enjoyed refreshments as well as the art work.
