Second place in STEM Challenge
Year 9 impress in Royal Holloway's Computer Science Challenge
On Wednesday 4th June ten Year 9 students represented the School in a Computer Science STEM Challenge Final at Royal Holloway University and came a very impressive second in the competition. The students have been working really hard after school with Science Teacher Miss Kirsty Gardner over the past three months to prepare for the final and really were a credit to the school.
The Challenge was to develop the skills required to build a new internet and the students learnt about message fragmentation, encapsulation and routing, error detection and correction and cryptography.
As well as taking part in the competition, students spent the day with current Royal Holloway students in lectures and on a campus tour, giving them an insight into student life.
