design and art technician

Salary:                         Scale 5 Pt 11 – 15 Full time Salary £24,030 to £25,809

Location:                     London Borough of Hounslow

Contract type:             Full-time or term-time only - 37 hours per week

Contract term:             Permanent

The School is seeking to appoint [as soon as possible] a Design Technology and Art Technician to join a large and well-resourced Curriculum Team. The skills required for the role include excellent communication, high order organisational and technical skills as well as the ability to support the delivery of practical lessons within the Art and DT Curriculum Area in a calm and professional manner. The role consists of regular School Technician duties including routine administration, maintenance duties and health and safety responsibilities related to the Curriculum Areas.

You will be one of two Technicians supporting this department and you should have relevant skills or experience in at least one of the main subject areas of DT (Resistant Materials, including the use of workshop machinery), Food and Nutrition, Fine Art, Graphics, Photography and Ceramics. Your enthusiasm for these subject areas as well as a willingness to work in a collaborative team and undertake continuing professional development and training are vital.
