Food Drive to help the homeless

Sixth Form students deliver food to The Upper Room charity

Teachers & Students delivering Food to the Upper RoomDuring December students at Heston Community School made a conscious effort to support members of the local community by holding a food drive in order to provide vital sustenance for those less fortunate than themselves. Sixth Form students, led by the newly appointed Heads of Charities (Kabir Sidhu and Karanvir Gosal), promoted the event throughout the School.

On the last day of the Autumn Term a group of students along with Ms Khan (Assistant Learning Co-ordinator to the Sixth Form) and Mr Evans (Learning Co-ordinator to the Sixth Form) took a wonderful offering of food down to The Upper Room, a local charity at St. Saviours Church, West London. The Upper Roo Upper Room logom provide various services including warm evening meals for homeless people, economic migrants and ex-offenders to help improve their lives and conditions.

The volunteers at The Upper Room were extremely appreciative of the food donated by the students.
