Gothic Exhibition

"Terror and Wonder" for A level English students at the British Library

Sixth Form students at the Gothic Exhibition

On 19th November, A Level English students from Heston had the opportunity to visit the ‘Terror and Wonder: The Gothic Imagination’ exhibition at the British Library. The trip supported the study of three Gothic texts (Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Angela Carter’s The Bloody Chamber and William Shakespeare’s Macbeth) by exploring the historical, moral and social climate that gave rise to Gothic writing. Students were able to see original texts, film clips, posters, illustrations and models during a self-directed tour of the exhibition.
