Trainee hearing impaired teaching assistant

Salary:                         Scale 5 Pt 11-15 [£23,175 - £24,629]

Contract term:             Permanent

The School is seeking to appoint, as soon as possible, an enthusiastic Hearing Impaired Teaching Assistant to compliment the work currently undertaken by the Hearing Impaired Unit. The skills required for the role include excellent communication and organisation, as well as being able to support in mainstream classes in a calm and professional manner. The right person will be accountable to the Head of the Centre of the Deaf.

Scale 5 posts involve a higher level knowledge across a range of SEN. There would be a greater contribution to the planning and assessment of learning needs and a more proactive involvement in the provision of support.

The successful candidate will be committed to the development of creative and engaging teaching and learning which will instil in students a passion for learning and change their lives through learning in the Humanities. The Team is well resourced and enjoys excellent facilities.

The ability to teach History to A Level is essential, as is a willingness to contribute actively to the thriving extra-curricular programme and wider school initiatives.

The School is seeking to appoint, as soon as possible, an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with personal qualities and skills of the highest order to compliment the work currently being undertaken by the Inclusion Department. The skills required for the role include excellent communication and organisation, as well as being able to support in mainstream classes in a calm and professional manner. The right person will be accountable to the SEN Manager.
