Dear Parent/Carer,

Please find attached a copy of your child’s termly report outlining their level of attainment measured against their end of year target grade.   We have provided some information on the back of this letter which gives you an explanation of the key areas covered in the report and reasons for any missing information.  We hope that you find this information useful.

Year 13 students will recieve a report twice a year and year Year 12 will recieve a report three times a year after each of the half-term breaks to enable you to monitor their progress.  We hope that the reports will provide more regular and accurate feedback to both parents and students enabling them to better fulfil their potential.

In addition Learning Coordinators will be contacting a small group of parents to raise specific concerns about their son/daughter’s progress and achievement. These meetings will take the form of a one to one meeting with a senior member of staff.

MARKING POLICY

We have asked that all teachers set a practical or extended written task that requires levelling or grading at least once a half term.  When explaining the strengths and weaknesses of the piece of work, subject teachers will make comments that enable all students to understand their achievements and know what they need to do next to make progress.  This feedback will be reported under two headings.

a)    www – what went well

b)    ebi – even better if

Our reports and parents evenings are an opportunity for students, parents/carers and the school to build a firm foundation to achieve academic success.  I would like to thank you in advance for your support making our partnership work successfully.

Yours sincerely,

R. BERDESHA
