Uniform & Equipment Students in Years 7 to 11 are expected to wear our school uniform to and from school and during the day. Sixth Form students are required to dress in a smart, business-like manner. Students are expected to wear school uniform on all school occasions. All items of clothing must be clearly marked with the appropriate name as otherwise lost property cannot be identified. Trainers are not suitable for general school wear and should not be worn except when students are taking part in PE. Shirts and blouses must be tucked inside trousers and skirts. A school tie appropriate to the Key Stage must be worn at all times at an appropriate length. All Key Stage 3 and 4 students are expected to wear blazers with the school badge and House colour. Outdoor coats and school bags should be plain and dark. Large logos on jackets and bags are not allowed. Students are not expected to walk around school wearing outdoor coats and jackets and are not allowed to wear other jackets and tops instead of school blazers and jumpers. Inappropriate items are usually confiscated. Parents should not write notes to excuse their child from wearing parts of the compulsory uniform unless the note is accompanied by a medical note and follows discussion with a senior member of staff. Hair colour and high fashion/cult hair styles are not permitted. Shaved heads (Grade 2 or shorter) are not permitted. Extremes of fashion, hairstyles or body piercing/marking are banned. The only jewellery which we allow students to wear is a wrist watch and a single stud earring - one in the lobe of each ear! Small religious emblems may be worn discreetly inside a student's uniform but not during PE lessons. Radios, tape recorders, personal stereos, video games and mobile ‘phones must not be brought to school by students and will be confiscated, if found.
