Events in PE

Sports Day

On a fresh June afternoon the school descended onto the field and the PE department for the 2010 Heston Sports Day. In the week leading up to sports day all students took part in the field events during their PE lessons, trying to put their form in poll position for the big day. The students performed with extreme determination and pride for their house and a number of school records were broken including;

Roshan Hansla 26.00sec in 200m

Tulsi Hansla 13.43sec in 100m

Tulsi Hansla 28.32sec in 200m

Tulsi Hansla 1.6meters in high jump

Isac Muwanga 2.22min in 800m

Arif Ullah 32.94m in Javelin

The eventual convincing winners were purple house.

National Sports Week

During the week 28^th June - 2^nd July the PE department organised many different events in light of national sports week. In school the students PE lessons were collapsed to enable students to experience a number of different sports that are not usually accessible during the PE lesson. These included; Rugby League, Trampolining, Spinning Classes, Handball Tchukhball, Futsal, Table tennis, Boxercise, a personal training session, Volleyball, Karate, Judo. After school Rounders Interhouse was set up for the students to compete in and there was also a trip to Gumley School for a group of girls in year 9 to take part in a girls' conference and participate in activities

 Sports Personality Awards Evening

The Annual Sports Personality Evening which took place on the 15^th July gave an opportunity for the PE department to give praise and recognition to the many different sports teams that the students are a part of. Over 50 awards were given out in total, the winners received a certificate and a Vivo vouchers. The main prizes went to the following students;

High achievers award; Asha Msabaa

Third place; Isac Muwanga

Second place; Tulsi Hansla

First Place; Arif Ullah
