School Comms

Dear Parent/Carer,

I would be grateful if you could complete the attached data collection sheet and return to your child's tutor or email the completed form to info@hestoncs.hounslow.sch.uk. It is only necessary to complete the form. If you want to inform the School of contact detail changes or to request that the School uses Schoolcomms to contact you.

Heston Community School began to use the Schoolcomms system to communicate with parents in the autumn term 2008. The new system allows the school to communicate quickly and efficiently with parents & carers via text and email messaging. The system allows us to inform you much faster if your child has not arrived at school and for you to respond by text or email.

The service will be used initially to inform parents and carers about a child's absence from school and to inform parents of the School's intention to close e.g. during the snow days. However, it could be used to inform you of other important school related matters including:.

• Term dates
• Commendations for good behaviour or exceptional work
• Changes to the school day
• Letters, Newsletters and Prospectus
• Reminders of parent evenings and the time of your appointment
• Lost property
• Competitions (educational) open to parents and their children
• Special events
• Emergency School Closures

The school will not be using ‘Schools Comms' as a replacement for face to face and written communication but as a tool that offers more choice to both parents, carers and the school.

I would therefore request that all parents complete the necessary details and keep the school up to date on any changes to us in writing. Please click here to download form.
