Parents PARENTS AND HESTON COMMUNITY SCHOOL During the Autumn Term, an invitation is extended to Parents of Year 6 pupils to visit the School. A New Parents' Evening is held each Summer Term for parents of students who will be joining the School in the following September. There is an opportunity to meet staff and ask questions during this Evening. New students also visit and see the School at work in July. Senior staff also visit Primary Schools to talk to staff, pupils and parents. The 1988 Education Reform Act and the Freedom of Information Act require that the School has available to parents various documents for their inspection. These include the LEA's statement of Curriculum Policy, the Complaints Procedure in respect of Curriculum Matters, Statutory Instruments, Schemes of Work, Subject Specifications, Orders, Circulars, Administrative Memoranda and Inspection Reports. Parents are asked to contact the School in advance if they wish to inspect these documents. Any concerns parents and others have about the School will be considered and dealt with through the Teachers, Assistant Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers and Headteacher. We are able to resolve the vast majority of problems in this way. Those problems that remain unresolved may be passed through the Governing Body or ultimately the Local Education Authority. We follow the statutory LEA procedures. Individual Appointments Whenever parents contact the School, they should give the name of their child's Tutor.
