PAPE News PAPE This year has been a very successful year for the Performing Arts and Physical Education department. There have been lots of activities and events organized in order to help develop our pupils. Drama: An excellent trip was arranged by Miss Reid for the drama students to see The Woman in Black. It was very beneficial for our current year 10 drama students, who gained a lot of valuable experience! This trip was a great success and students were talking about it for days afterwards. usic: Coming soon will be the summer performance. Last year this was a great success, with various acts performing and entertaining an enthusiastic crowd! Performances ranged from piano recitals, singing, even a staff band! Now that's entertainment! Please see Miss Ryeland or Mr. O'Donovan if you are interested in showcasing your musical talents this year! PE: The PE department has organized two inter house competitions so far this year, with the boys and girls competing in Football and Basketball. These events were very successful and promoted a high level of competition and challenge for all involved. Students really enjoyed themselves and it was great to see such a high number of pupils compete. The pictures below show the successful 7B form for Football and 8P Purple for Basketball, and 7B girls for Football.
Earlier this year the department organized a very enjoyable trip to The Stoop for our new and developing rugby players towatch Harlequins RFC Vs Exeter Chiefs. It was a great experience for our budding rugby players, as it was the first time they had ever seen a live professional fixture. Our pupils had a great time and learnt a lot from the experience! Below is a picture of our pupils, the Harlequins Mascot and a very excited Mr. Menchini!
The athletics season is now upon us, and we have already had success in the form of Roshan Hansla (9G) who represented the school at the recent borough trials. Roshan performed incredibly, winning the shot put, discus and coming second in the 200m! We wish Roshan every success in being selected for the Hounslow representative team for his age group.
Cricket: Year 7 boys' cricket team got off to a great start, beating Longford by 53 runs, with Harshal scoring 29 off the bat, and Sam Mehta taking an impressive 4-14 while bowling. Their second fixture was a slightly wet affaire with the game being delayed due to rain. When the game finally went ahead Lampton came out successful in a very tight match, winning by only 4 runs. Again, Harshal leading the scoring for the second match in a row! Year 8 boys had a difficult start to the season losing to Isleworth in their opening game, but the pick of the players was Zeshan Nazar who led by example. The Year 9 team have had a mixed start, losing a very hard match against league leaders Isleworth and Syon, but bouncing back in outstanding form to beat The Heathland School! Adam Bhatti was in great form, scoring 41 runs from 28 balls, while Ranveer Bhatia took 3 wickets for 29 runs in a strong bowling display.
